The centre of Vix is situated under 2 miles from the villa.  

In the village there is: a café/bar, take away pizzas, small pasta/pizza restaurant, 2 banks with cash points, a post office, 2 hairdressers, baker, butcher, mini market for basic supplies. 

For a choice of larger supermarkets, shops and petrol station Fontenay le Comte is located 10 kms from Vix.  There is also a local market in Fontenay every Saturday mornings.
